Dear Susan,

When I met you, I was going through a rough patch. My marriage had started off in extreme crisis, and I was considering divorce as an option as a newly wed. Both my husband and I struggled with a purposeless life.

I recalled that you once shared about how a wise woman builds her house but with her own hands, but the foolish one tears hers down (Proverbs 14:1).

Thank you for sharing the truth. I witnessed it myself and I saw the wise woman within you when you are with your husband, Pastor Derek. Both of you will openly show your mutual love for one another. You will hold each other’s hands and look so much in love. That scene was very real to me and it gave me hope and courage to try to work out my marriage with God in the center.

I remembered clearly that you shared with us that both man and woman are equally important to God. A wife needs to be wise and strong, so as to stand together with her husband to carry out God’s work in His Kingdom. A woman is not just a submissive wife, but to be a helper to her husband and to have the faith to carry her husband’s vision.

I learnt from you on how to put God first in all things, and every other good thing (family, ministry, career) that I need would be added to me.

You imparted to me the truth that I can be a woman of love, faith and wisdom too. Truly, nothing can stop one who believes in God! You are a very inspiring leader and a faith-filled beautiful woman of God.

Susan, thank you so much for being such a great role model. Thank you for your love and care for us. My husband and I have made it!

We are restored in our marriage and are now very much in love again. We are enjoying a fruitful life now. Praise the Lord!

And by the grace of God, we are now both serving as cell group leaders in church and sharing the goodness of God to others.

May the Lord continue to wrap you with His great love, faith and joy.

God loves you and we love you very much too.
